The Music Instrument Collection program (MIC), collects used musical instruments and distributes them to local students who couldn’t otherwise obtain them. Funds from MIC also pay to refurbish used instruments.
The Laird Bush Music Education Fund was founded in 2013 and operates under the auspices of the Washington County Community Foundation in Hagerstown, Md. Donations to the Fund, in the Foundation, are used for scholarships for musicians.
It was the last wish of the late Laird Bush, a well-known musician in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, who wanted to help students share his love of music.
