The Music Instrument Collection program finds used musical instruments, gets them refurbished and back into the hands of local students who couldn’t otherwise afford them. MIC is run by Laird Bush Music Education Fund. The nonprofit was founded in 2023 and operates under the auspices of the Washington County Community Foundation in Hagerstown, Md.
MIC was the last wish of the late Laird Bush, a well-known musician in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, who wanted to help students share his love of music.
